Founder & CEO
Denis comes from a long career in embedded software with over 20 years’ experience in delivering quality consumer, industrial, and military communications solutions to a variety of customers. During this time, he has learned to lead large, multi-national, multi-disciplinary teams to timely and successful outcomes. Denis comes to Sonn both as a professional and as a very serious foodie.

Wylie Hui
CFO
Wylie oversees the financial management, reporting, investor relations, and corporate administration for Sonn Technology Ltd. Wylie is passionate about helping businesses flourish in this dynamic business environment and has over 20 years of professional experience in financial planning and analysis; financial modeling; due diligence; risk management; external and internal auditing; and financial process innovation in mining, telecommunication, technology, media and entertainment, and life sciences sectors.
Wylie received a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from the University of Western Ontario and holds the CPA, CA (BC and Ontario); CPA (Illinois); and Family Enterprise Advisor designations. He lives in Richmond, BC, with his wife and daughter and is an avid road cyclist and mountain biker.

Stephen Chang
IT & Operations
With 20 years of professional experience and 25-plus years of personal experience, Stephen’s career has included roles leading teams in a variety of verticals, ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 enterprises. His current focus is on the discipline of Network Infrastructure Architecture along with Network Engineering. When not at a keyboard, he can be found meeting with fellow car enthusiasts, mountain biking Vancouver and Squamish’s many trails, snowboarding the local mountains, and spending time with family.

Lawrence Chew
Marketing
With 15 years of professional marketing communications and brand strategy experience, Lawrence has spent most of his career operating within high-growth organizations, both as a full-stack marketing specialist and taking leadership roles within high-performing teams. From financial services to community organizations, he has operated in multiple verticals, finding ways to achieve strategic objectives by reaching target audiences through brand positioning, effective communication, and creative execution.
Lawrence has served as Director of Public Relations for Richmond Sunrise Rotary and sat on the advisory board for UBC’s Trek Alumni Magazine. Outside of work, Lawrence can be found playing music, performing improvised theatre, and enjoying the spoils of Vancouver with his wife and two children.

Engineering
Tonio is a polyglot electrical engineer, software developer, and production expert. After working in more formal engineering roles for nearly 30 years, he has jumped in to really enjoy the creativity of Sonn’s technology.

After receiving his degree in Materials engineering, Sam drifted to the world of sales and has been selling high tech products and services to a variety of commercial, industrial, and military clients. Coming from a farming background, the ability to merge his family skills and professional skills is a happy coincidence.

Dani’s career in the publishing industry and previous years spent slinging cocktails in bars across the country have finally merged in her role managing Sonn’s social media. When she isn’t reading, Dani can be found in the coastal mountains with her dog and partner by her side.

Julian Forman
Julian is a results and detail-oriented Strategic Business Consultant and Intellectual Property Lawyer with 15 years of experience advising corporate and start-up clients in the Medical Device, Biotechnology, High Technology, Pharmaceutical, Information Technology, and E-Commerce industries. He has worked on a diverse mix of matters, including technology-related corporate transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and fundraising.
His Intellectual Property experience covers all phases of the IP lifecycle, including patent and trademark prosecution, litigation, and transactional matters such as licensing. Additionally, his experience with technology companies has extended to multiple other areas of practice, including regulatory and quality management, securities, contracting, and employment.
Julian has had significant international exposure in the North American, European and Asian markets with both transactional and litigation/contentious experiences in those regions.

David Manuel
David is a technology executive with more than 25 years of experience in building product and service offerings. A computer engineer by training, he has held leadership roles in sales and marketing, strategy, software, firmware and hardware engineering, mobile, IoT, SaaS, and B2C/B2B products.
His career includes Fathom Systems (RTLS IoT/SaaS), Microsoft (Windows Phone), Intrinsyc Technologies (mobile and embedded products), MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates (geospatial systems), and Nortel Networks (telecom products).
David has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Engineering from McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario.
